How great it is to talk about this truth about Happiness.  Allow me to visualize the meaning that comes out when they are tied together; Happiness and Purpose.

A person once asked me, is the candle crying when it is lighted? The person further remarked, maybe there is tremendous pain the candle is experiencing, the pain of little by little being consumed.

The question brought me to a pause. and then decided to say, “I feel the candle is not crying”. On the contrary, the candle is in great state of happiness while lighted, because finally, the candle can carry on his defined purpose in this world, that is to give light in the midst of darkness”.

I may sound too symbolic, but I guess the same symbolism is so much evident in the lives of many people discovering deep happiness in living their purpose.

– The happiness found by parents raising their child

– The happiness of a social worker helping people in depressed communities

– The happiness of a teacher seeing a student excel in life

– The happiness we feel whenever we help someone in need

There are a lot more real stories around us. We can learn from the candle. HAPPINESS is rooted in PURPOSE.

During this time of pandemic and great difficulties, we are challenged to discover or maybe re-discover our purpose. And just like the candle, to experience giving light in times of darkness. In the process, experiencing true happiness.
