Faith transcends limitations

Years ago I have read an inspiring story from  the book of Fr. Jerry Orbos SVD, “Shared Moments”. It was about a couple who joined a Pilgrimage to Manaoag, Pangasinan. They were carrying a frail and really tiny baby gasping for breath. The doctors had given up on the child and told the couple to take the baby home, but the parents instead decided to join the walk going to Manoaog. Fr. Orbos was touched by the faith of the couple when they asked him to bless the baby. Continue reading

Have you ever asked yourself why God spent a special time creating you and placing you in this world?

Graduation day. I asked the valedictorian of the batch what drives him to study hard and excel in school. He said “I want to have a good life someday! I want to give my family everything they need in life!” I congratulated him and told him to keep up the good works. However, as I turn away from him, I feel that something is missing. There is something lacking in the way he answered my question. Maybe, it is just that I think, a man with such brilliance should go beyond the ordinary, beyond himself and beyond the four corners of his own family. Continue reading

I always believe that there is something good in every person since basic to our nature is that we are all created in God’s own image and likeness. Logically speaking, everything in us is good for our source is the “Supreme Good.” Every human person is filled with goodness.
