I simply wear jeans and a polo shirt on usual workdays or even in informal business engagements and talks. And I always hear this question from people I meet, “What does the MPKK in your shirt mean?”

It all started with life transitions that I experienced years ago. The event brought me to a point of asking what I really want to do with life. And even questioning my worth after almost 40 years of existence in this world (I was 39 then)….to cut the long story short…after a process of discernment, self-examination, spiritual direction, prayers…I was able to write my declared mission for the rest of my life;

I believe that a person’s past will not define his or her future

I intend to be the good person God wants me to be.

In this world of complexity, family matters to me most. To be a good husband to my wife… a good father to my two kids, I feel are the primary moral obligations entrusted to me.

I also desire to make a difference in other people’s lives. To contribute in making this world a better place to live. To work on what really matters; character, values, principles, life…

And so MPKK was born. To prompt me of the things I really value in life.

MPKK stands for two things;

First, is that it carries the first letter of the names in the family; Mike, Perla, Kyle, and Kyla,  to remind me of what I really value in this world; my FAMILY.

Second, is a framework for living a life of meaning and purpose. There are four (4) things I deem as needed. Mission, Principle, Kindness, Kneel (Humility). The framework can be applied in the context of the individual or as an organization. It will be a pleasure to have the chance to discuss further the MPKK framework.

When my time in this world expires, I hope people will say…” Yes, I remember him…the MPKK”
