It’s been a long time since I last wrote something that is spiritual or religious in context. I’ve been into character building, personality development, and people skills themes for the last I guess 5 years.
Every time I facilitate a workshop on the 7 habits of highly effective people, I always spend a good time talking about sharpening the self in 4 areas; physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Though I do not always mention it, I personally believe that spirituality is the foundation of these 4.
My simple thoughts, SPIRITUALITY is believing in a higher being, a bigger purpose, on something or someone that is and who is DIVINE. It is the one that can lead us to acceptance, hope, transcendence, and even service in these difficult situations.
This pandemic, I always get this question from a lot of people I work with, “What should we do in order to cope up with this situation?” My hope is that we don’t just cope up with the challenges of this time, but instead for us to come out new and better from this situation. A better person, a better society, a better nation, a better world. How? The key is SPIRITUALITY.
MPKK as I always say is about a life of mission, actions based on principles, kindness, and humility. But all four should be rooted in a deep sense of spirituality, or I would say an intimate relationship with God built by prayer and reflection. For if not, those elements will just simply be superficial.
Allow me to state it now, the value and spirit of my MPKK are anchored in spirituality…my personal connection with GOD. It serves as the true north that makes sure I do not alter the true sense of mission, principles, kindness, and humility.
Silence…Reflections….Prayers…..SPIRITUALITY – these will make all the difference.
