Interview with Lloyd Luna in “The New Channel” (TNC). I was just grateful to have the chance to share my MPKK on another media platform. The 1 hour of conversation with Sgt. Lloyd A. Luna, PAFR was really fun and engaging. Listening back to the recordings, there are a lot of things that I still missed mentioning about the MPKK framework.
I find the last question of Lloyd during the conversation really significant. In the big picture of what happened in 2020, how can the MPKK framework connect to it?
2020 is indeed a challenging year. Lloyd was true saying that it was not really a wasted year. In fact, it gave way to a lot of new insights, opportunities for growth, tons of introspection and reflection.
The Pandemic challenges us to embrace a greater (M)ISSION. To respond to the call of time and the needs coming out from the crisis. In the midst of difficulties, we are asked to go beyond self-preservation but instead, find meaning in making a proactive part in this on-going global crisis.
It is now more than ever that our actions and decisions should be guided by universal (P)RINCIPLES of love, compassion, integrity, honesty. It is devastating to witness that in the midst of the pandemic; selfishness, greed, corruption, indifference is lurking around and having flesh in the heart of many people. The challenge is to always embrace the better things, not only for self but more for others even if at times it would entail a great deal of sacrifice.
Now more than ever that we are also called for an overdose of (K)INDNESS. Everywhere we turn our sights, we see situations and people crying for help, in need of compassion and a helping hand. It would be a shame to say we can’t do anything. Kindness is not about the size of stone we can lift but essentially about the willingness to do so.
And the greatest lesson, I guess we can take from all of these is realizing that our technology and knowledge are not enough to combat a thing whose size is even invisible to our naked eye. At the end of the day, we all (K)NEEL in HUMILITY to ask GOD for help. To recognize that alone we cannot get the boat crossed the troubled water. But together and with the mercy of GOD, things can be a lot better. Humility also breaks down comparison and competition. It simply tells us, that this is not the moment for self-aggrandizement and selfish political agenda.
Lastly, we know that the feeling of uncertainty is still with 2021. But uncertainty is a good opportunity to define our certainties. I challenge you to create what is certain for you this 2021. You can have the MPKK help you paddle the boat and reach the destination. All the best!
